Activity Log is the timeline view of everything that happens on a field or across a farm. Where Activity & Alerts shows a severity-ranked feed of what needs attention now, Activity Log shows the same events on a Gantt chart across the full crop cycle: what is completed, what is scheduled, when it happened, who is assigned, and what is coming next. It is a lens, not a new data source. Every bar on the chart comes from an event you can already see elsewhere on the platform.
Activity Log renders the same event stream that powers Activity & Alerts. If you want severity and countdowns, use the feed. If you want history, planning, and assignment overview, use the timeline.

What appears on the timeline

Every event with a timestamp and a duration (or a defined completion point) is drawn as a Gantt bar. Events with no duration render as milestones (diamonds or dots on the row).

Phenology phases

Emergence, tillering, booting, heading, ripening, harvest. Drawn as the background band so every other event has stage context.

Alerts and risks

Field alerts and risk-card windows. Bar length equals mitigation.window_days from the rule card. Color-coded by severity.

Scout tasks

Bar from task.assigned to task.completed. Assignee shown on the row label. Overdue tasks render in red past the due date.

VRA maps

Bar covers the full VRA lifecycle from map.generated to map.applied. Milestones mark each lifecycle step.

Verifications

Milestones on the day each verification was issued. Click a milestone to jump to the Verification bundle.

Imagery passes

Small tick marks along the top axis showing every satellite acquisition. Cloud-blocked passes are hollow ticks.

Views

The same underlying timeline can be pivoted to answer different questions. Switch views from the segmented control in the top-right of the chart. The active view is remembered per user.

Bar anatomy

Each bar carries:
  • Title - human-readable summary drawn from the underlying event’s summary field.
  • Assignee - avatar and name on the bar’s row label for scout tasks and VRA reviews.
  • Severity color - matches the severity ladder: Critical (red), High (orange), Medium (yellow), Low (blue), Info (gray).
  • Status marker - solid bar for completed, striped for in-progress, dashed for scheduled/future.
When an event was spawned by another event, the chart draws a thin arrow between them. Common linkages:
  • Risk card → scout task (“blast risk HIGH spawned this scout task”)
  • Scout task → VRA map (“scout confirmed lesions, VRA map targeted at the hazard”)
  • VRA map.applied → Verification (“applied event became a verification”)
Hover any bar to highlight its full chain in both directions. This is the fastest way to trace “why did we do this, and did it work?” across the season.

Common workflows

Switch to By assignee view, scope to the next 7 days. Every teammate’s upcoming bars are visible. Reassign by dragging a bar to a different row. Assignments update in Activity & Alerts immediately.
Switch to By activity type, scope to the full season. Count completed scout tasks vs. issued risk alerts to see response rate. Overlay yield outcome on the phenology band to correlate stress windows with final yield.
Filter by field, scope to the claim window, export as PDF. The exported timeline includes every alert, scout, VRA, and verification with the same evidence bundle references used in Verification.
Switch to By assignee, scope to the next 3 days. Any teammate with 5 or more overlapping bars is flagged over-capacity. Reassign before the weather-driven alert volume hits.

Scheduling future work

Activity Log is not read-only. Scheduled work (tasks with a future assigned date, VRA maps in Approved status waiting for a window, planned harvest declarations) can be dragged, extended, or reassigned directly on the chart. Editing a bar emits the same event you would emit from the underlying module: Completed work cannot be edited from the chart; only future or in-progress work is mutable. Completed events are the source of Verification and must remain immutable.

Saved views are per-user and can be shared by URL.

Export

Export the current view as:
  • PDF - for printed reports or agency submissions
  • PNG - for slides and stand-ups
  • CSV - one row per bar with all event fields, for spreadsheet analysis
  • iCal - scheduled and in-progress bars as calendar events, so future work shows up in your team’s calendar
